In many ways swimwear has de-evolved with the emergence of the retro trends especially the one piece. In some instances the styling and references go all the way back to WWII poster girl Betty Grable and her chunky kit which was considered risqué at the time. Today there are a number of slimmer and more fitted versions emphasizing body contours and available in a stunning array of fabrics, colors and patterns. The cutaway, or monokini, is one of the hottest alternatives. Often adorned with bejeweled links and accessories it provides the wearer an option to show or hide favorite or problem body parts.

Many designs come with as much glamour and glitz as possible that can be packed into a small package. Shiny gold and silver materials loaded with embellishments such as beads, fringes, chains, buckles and bows make for a fabulous trip to the beach.
