Fooled again. It appears rumours supermodel Gisele Bundchen and New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady are engaged are another letdown. The celebrity couple were reported to have gotten engaged onboard a private jet in mid-flight on Christmas Eve complete with white roses and champagne. However Tom Brady Senior has told the media that they are ...rumour ...rumour ...rumour. The Boston Herald reported spotting the couple and Bundchen wasn't wearing an engagement ring. Giselle's sister also denied the reports.

Marc Jacobs sexed up his next ad campaign with Brit it-girl Daisy Lowe. The saucy ads will make their début in the February issue of Teen Vogue. The 19 year-old model is the daughter of singer/songwriter turned fashion designer Pearl Lowe and Bush front man Gavin Rossdale. Lowe was also featured along with Peaches Geldof in Agent Provocateur's fall 08 ad campaign.

Eco conscious British handbag designer Anya Hindmarch was awarded the MBE as part of the Queen's New Year honours list in recognition of her environmentally friendly shopping bag campaign. In 2007 her 'I'm Not a Plastic' Bag re-usable bag became a global sensation and helped raise awareness concerning damage caused to the environment by plastic packaging. Its success encouraged fashion houses to introduce similar carrier bags. The 40 year-old has also partnered with Target in the U.S

According to the Daily Mail the airbrush people went too far in their treatment of Kate Moss. In a recent photo shoot for Versace by photographer Mario Testino they deemed the 34-year-old almost unrecognizable... "The glamorous, sun-kissed look is a far cry from the supermodel's usual scruffy, windswept image and it is obvious she may have needed a little help from the airbrush to achieve it."

As a sign of the times Chanel cut 200 jobs from its Paris operation which represents about 10% of its French workforce. Last year the fashion house enjoyed over $5 billion in sales. Two weeks ago, the company announced that it was cancelling its Mobile Art tour designed by Zaha Hadid. However Chanel Artistic Director Karl Lagerfeld said the move was the result of artistic differences and not money.

Legendary French designer Ted Lapidus died in Paris at the age of 79. Known as The Poet of French Couture, he is largely credited with beginning the unisex trend in the 1960's and popularizing the Safari jacket. He dressed many celebrities including the Beatles. President Nicolas Sarkozy was quoted as saying that Lapidus.... "democratized French elegance and classicism and made fashion accessible to men and women in the street".
